Greet the patient, introduce yourself as the doctor, ask how they are, ask their name, and invite them in.

Confirm the patient's full name, ask them to repeat it, and invite them to come in and sit.

Ask what brings the patient in today, how you can help, whether a tooth hurts, and if there is anything else.

¿Dónde le duele?
Ask where it hurts, whether it is upper or lower, which side, and whether it is this tooth.

Desde cuándo
Ask since when it has hurt, whether it is a lot or a little, and whether cold or biting sets it off.

Medicamentos y alergias
Ask whether the patient takes medications and whether they are allergic to anything, then thank them.

Pase y siéntese
Invite the patient in, show them where to go, and ask them to sit down.

Seat the patient, have them lean back a little more, tell them to relax, and ask if they are comfortable.

Ask the patient to open, open a little more, stick out the tongue, and close.

During the exam, ask if this spot hurts, try another spot, and tell the patient to let you know if it hurts.

Voy a revisar
Tell the patient you are going to look, use the mirror, and ask them not to worry.

Las radiografías
Explain that you will take x-rays, tell the patient to bite this and not to move, and ask about pregnancy when needed.

La limpieza
Tell the patient you will do a cleaning, mention a little tartar and the gums, and recommend floss.

La anestesia
Tell the patient you are going to numb the area, that there will be a pinch, and check whether the lip feels asleep.

Tell the patient they have a cavity, that it can be treated, and that the tooth can be repaired.

Explain that you will place a filling, clean the tooth, and ask the patient to bite when you are done.

Give simple aftercare: do not eat for two hours, avoid hard foods, use ice, and call if it hurts.

Tell the patient to brush twice a day, floss, rinse, and be gentle.

Set the next appointment in two weeks and ask if Tuesday morning works.

Alergias
Ask again about penicillin and latex, note the allergy, and say you will not use that material.

Take blood pressure and ask about pressure medicine, a blood thinner, diabetes, and heart problems.

Speak to the parent with usted, ask the child's name and age, give simple commands, and praise the child.

Name the swelling, ask about fever, and tell the patient they need to be seen today.

Give a prescription: ibuprofen every eight hours with food, and check that they understood.

Explain that the tooth needs to come out, mention stitches and swelling, and say it is necessary.

Have the patient bite, ask if it feels high, and say whether the bite is even.

Talk about the gums: they are inflamed, they bleed a little, and the patient needs to clean well and floss every day.

Do I need any Spanish already?
No. Level 1 assumes nothing and stays in formal usted the whole way, because that is what you will use with a patient.
How many levels are there?
Five. Each level is thirty lessons. You start with Level 1. Later levels stay on the same $15 plan.
Is there an app?
Not yet. The site works on your phone and installs to your home screen. Lessons stream, so a signal helps.
Why not Duolingo?
Duolingo teaches you to read a sentence. This makes you say the thirty sentences a visit actually requires, out loud, until they arrive without translating.
What if I cancel?
Cancel from the portal and you keep access through the end of the month you paid for. No email required, no exit survey you cannot skip.
Five levels at $15 a month — do I just cancel after Level 1?
You can, and that is fine. Most people run each lesson more than once and stay for the later levels.
